A STROLL AROUND ST. HELENS

A STROLL AROUND ST. HELENS

AN interesting look at the historic ST. HELENS

A STROLL AROUND ST. HELENS

DISTANCE-2 mile| DIFFICULTY-Easy | TIME-2 hours plus.

A Stroll around St Helens walk is approximately 2 miles in length and can take anything from 2 hours to … well, however long you choose to sit in or outside The Vine afterwards! It is from the car park opposite the pub that we will start (by the cricket pavilion – though there is ample off-roading parking all around the Green).

The walk takes in a walk through the woods, across the causeway at Bembridge Harbour and back, with an optional additional loop to the Duver and back. It is easy walking but with plenty to see – bring your binoculars for sea birds and eagles!

The 2 hours is a generous time allowance (the walk can be done in 1 hour if the weather conditions are unfavourable) – which means we can take this walk at a leisurely pace, with plenty of time for photos, bird-spotting and optional additional loops including the one that takes us to the Duver where there are loo facilities and possibly a café (depending on the time of year).

Always magnificent especially at low tide where fabulous rock pools emerge. The cliff faces and rock formations are breathtaking – especially ‘that building’ teetering on the very edge’ ..!
